- TypeGin
Gordon's Gin has received the greatest honour of all - the Royal Coat of Arms by appointment to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Although Gordon's Gin is produced in a number of locations around the world, the thousands of kilometres of geographical separation are not permitted to affect Gordon's stringent quality standards. Every key stage of the process, spirit rectification, ingredient quality and final blend, are all sent to London for approval. Only when approval of the final blend is given, may the product be called Gordon's Gin. In this way, the tradition of excellence and the integrity of the final formula, both established by Alexander Gordon in the 18th century, are fully maintained.
Small wonder that today, Gordon's plays a key role in the world's largest gin market, the USA. It leads in virtually every European market; it outsells every other brand of gin in the UK put together and it accounts for almost two thirds of the gin market in South Africa! Gordon's Gin was first launched in South Africa in 1953, and in 1975 Distell (then Distillers Corporation) became sole agents for the brand. Today Gordon's Gin is South Africa's top selling gin and continues to grow every year.
